Everyone in line was chattering eagerly about how revolutionary Sizzle corp was and making astronomical projections about how much money had been made with Sizzle Corp and how much more was coming soon. In fact the lineup at the teller window for Sizzle Corp was so long he couldn’t see the end of it. It seemed to our hero that everyone at the bank was lining up to invest with Sizzle Corp. Which brings us back to our friend at the bank…trying to decide which company to invest in Suddenly everyone in the Land of Spin was talking about how great the Sizzle Gizmos were and wondering how could anyone possibly ever have bought one of those archaic Boring Co Gizmos?
Sizzle corp had invented a new motor for Gizmos, and on top of that they had figured out how to attach a 21-inch touchscreen to the console of their Gizmos. Sizzle corp had only existed in the Land of Spin for a few years and in that short time they had turned the world of Gizmos upside down. In fact many of the residents of the Land of Spin owed their retirement savings, their jobs, and the Gizmos they drove to work every day to Boring Co.īoring Co had it good….until a few years ago when Sizzle Corp showed up. In fact, Gizmos were invented by the founder of Boring Co over 100 years ago (Henry Gizmo) and the company had been selling them to the residents of the country ever since.īoring Co wasn’t very flashy but they had steadily grown over their history and they paid a nice dividend to their shareholders.
They had actually sold Gizmos in the Land of Spin for as long as anyone could remember. And each day when he would walk into the bank, our farmer had to pick one or the other to entrust with his small handful of coins to. In the Land of Spin where our farmer lived, there were only 2 companies to invest your money with. Our hero was not a sophisticated man, but he knew that if he put just a few coins away each week, then at the end of his life he might be able to look forward to a few quiet years without needing to visit the chicken coop to pay his grocery bills. Then he would saddle up for the market, sell the few eggs he had collected, and pocket the small fistful of change he earned.Īfter some groceries, rent for the farm, and a hefty tribute payment to the local monarch, Phil would look at the few coins he had left and turn towards his local bank to put the meagre savings he had earned to work for him. He was up at first light and would poke around the chicken coop looking for eggs to sell at the market that day. His breakfast was bread and butter, he drank his coffee black, and every day he worked his 9-5 raising chickens.Įach day was the same for our humble hero. Our protagonist lived a pretty normal life. Once upon a time in a land far far away….lived a simple farmer named Phil.
